The purpose of the primer is to fill the partial or total support according to the desired finish. This family of products includes facilitating agents ginning and sanding. The application is by spraying, curtain machine, cylinder machine, or dipping.
The polyurethane topcoat is selected depending on the nature of the primer layer, the desired final appearance and performances. The varnish is generally applied by spraying or manual or automatic curtain machine.
Bilayer polyurethane varnish is a product that can be used as both primer and topcoat, with intermediate sanding more difficult to achieve. Its advantage is the use of a single product.
The primer is a pigmented basecoat and loaded. It is used to be finished, in general, such as pigmented lacquers.
The insulation has for purpose to isolate the finition of the socket to prevent undesirable hemical reactions (eg adhesion loss often on fatwood, inhibition, ...)
Melamine varnish are presented in two components: the product itself and the solution of acid catalysis, which must be mixed in the prescribed proportions. They are used for their high resistance to mechanical stress, their high resistance to yellowing and drying rapididté. They can release during drying a pungent odor and should be applied on acid-resistant materials.
Precatalysed varnishes are products wherein the single-component catalyst is already incorporated. They offer a significant ease of use with quick drying and physico-chemical resistance superior to cellulose, but less than the twocomponent varnish.
The varnishes are products having as main binder nitrocellulose, and whose hardening is done by simple solvent evaporation. They offer the advantage of being easy to use, quick drying and have a virtually unlimited pot life. By cons, they have a limited mechanical and chemical resistance.
The color swatches are provided as a guide and may in no case be used as a reference value (variation depending on substrate and application method).
"Patinas are variations of color, in general, they are on a background clear or pigmented. A low friction, can be ""jexées"" for aged or give a special appearance to the wood grains." The patina should absolutely be protected by a varnish or wax. The ceruse apply, generally, open pore wood to mark the grain of the wood and wipe in 8 to facilitate the penetration into the pores. They must be absolutely protected by varnish.
